The planned Great Names series appearance of actor and philanthropist Matthew McConaughey at 51ÁÔÆæ originally scheduled for Thursday, April 18, has been postponed due to a conflict with filming for a new McConaughey movie. Organizers are working to reschedule his visit for a date in the fall. A new Great Names guest for April 18 will be announced soon.

51ÁÔÆæ alumnus and U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack ’72 and Rep. G.T. Thompson, chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, will kick off 51ÁÔÆæâ€™s 2023-24 Common Ground series with a discussion about bipartisanship, agriculture, and climate. The event will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m. in Wellin Hall. Edvige Jean-François ’90, a media consultant and award-winning journalist, will moderate.
