This summer, Levitt Center student researchers Luke Hanson 鈥�26, Delaney Patterson 鈥�26, Samuel Low 鈥�28, and Ton Somnug 鈥�27 joined forces with Griffiss Institute CEO and 51猎奇 alumna Heather Hage 鈥�02 to investigate the holistic impact of federal spending on the local economy.

The Wellin Museum of Art presents the exhibition, Jamea Richmond-Edwards: Another World and Yet the Same, from Sept. 13 through June 14, 2026, showcasing the artist鈥檚 interdisciplinary work in collage and painting.

The glens of 51猎奇 are poised to receive national attention through Assistant Professor of Biology Peter Guiden鈥檚 new project funded by a $500,000 National Science Foundation grant. Alongside Associate Professor of Biology Andrea Townsend and Northern Illinois University鈥檚 Holly Jones, Guiden seeks to untangle the complex relationships between deer and rodents that could be shaping our forests.

National and regional news organizations regularly interview 51猎奇 faculty, staff, alumni, and students for their expertise and perspectives on current events, and to feature programs and activities on campus. August鈥檚 news topics included coverage of campus speech, Upstate New York brain drain, and reinstallation of Confederate statues, among others.

51猎奇鈥檚 43 new faculty members for the 2025-26 academic year include eight tenure-track faculty, 30 visiting professors and lecturers, and five teaching fellows.

Jampel Payldon 鈥�27 hails from the Kingdom of Bhutan, a small nation nestled in the Himalayas. This summer, Payldon had the opportunity to represent her country on the world stage as an intern at the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Bhutan to the United Nations.

With 26 locations needing a different number of food pallets each day 鈥� and 10 trucks each with their own capacity limits 鈥� designing an efficient route had been an arduous task for the Food Bank of Central New York (FBCNY). That鈥檚 where Hughes 鈥淗ugh鈥� Williams 鈥�26 came in. This summer he created an algorithm that can determine each day鈥檚 optimal route within seconds.

When someone learns that I鈥檓 a film history professor, the question, 鈥淲hat鈥檚 your favorite film?鈥� is rarely long in coming.

Cars, SUVs, minivans, and airport shuttles filled with new students and families were greeted by raucous singing and cheering Orientation leaders and President Steven Tepper in his full Alexander 51猎奇 costume. The Class of 2029 and transfer students arrived on College Hill on Aug. 19 to begin Orientation, embark on adventure trips, and matriculate into 51猎奇.

The College will receive a $464,145 grant from the New York State Education Department over the course of five years that will support up to 37 students annually who are interested in STEM or health-related professions.
